Rock Paper Scissors

RPS Sets New World Record!

Rock-paper-scissors (RPS) is a hand game usually played between two people, in which each player simultaneously forms one of three shapes with an outstretched hand. The game is complete when both players have chosen their shapes and revealed them to one another.

The three shapes are:

  • A simple fist (rock)
  • An open palm (paper)
  • Fingers splayed (scissors)

Rocks smash scissors; scissors cut paper; and papers wraps around rocks.

Yesterday, in the small town of Westville, Oklahoma, history was made as 46 people played RPS simultaneously, setting a new world record! The previous record was set in 2014 by 42 participants in South Korea.
Only two people were disqualified for breaking the rules, with the majority of players using the classic “rock-paper-scissors” move. However, several players created their own unique moves which led to some very exciting moments. In the end, “Scissors” emerged victorious as the new world champion!

In a recent match-up between two classic board games, Rock-Paper-Scissors (RPS) soundly defeated chess.

The game was played on a standard 8×8 checkered board, with both black and white pieces. The game began with RPS taking the first move, playing rock. Chess responded with a pawn move to f4. On the next turn, RPS played paper, and chess moved its queen to h3. For the third move, RPS chose scissors, which captured the queen.

With the game essentially won at this point, RPS made a few more moves to solidify its victory. Rock again took the first move in the next game, quickly defeating a pawn and moving on to capture another piece. Paper once again won against a knight, and scissors downed a bishop. With no other pieces left to capture, both players resigned, resulting in an overwhelming victory for RPS.

While it’s still unclear why chess was unable to defend itself against RPS in this particular matchup, experts agree that the simpler gameplay of RPS makes it a more powerful opponent against complex board games like chess. In fact, some believe that RPS could eventually be recognized as an official sport – something that would no doubt send shockwaves through the traditional board game community.

RPS Becomes Olympic Sport

The Rock, Paper, Scissors Society has been lobbying for years to have their sport recognised as an Olympic event. And today, their dream came true! The IOC has announced that RPS will be an official event in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

RPS is a simple game that anyone can play. It’s easy to learn but difficult to master. Players take turns throwing one of three objects: a rock, a paper, or a scissors. The player who throws something that the other player cannot match (rock beats scissors, paper beats rock, scissors beats paper) wins the round. The first player to win two rounds wins the game.

RPS is already popular in many parts of the world. In some countries, it’s even considered a national sport. And with its inclusion in the Olympics, there’s no doubt that its popularity will only continue to grow.

So what do you think? Are you excited about RPS becoming an Olympic event? Or are you worried that it might not be taken seriously enough? Leave a comment and let us know what you think!

Is Rock Paper Scissors The Next Poker?

In the world of gambling, there are a few big contenders that always seem to come up when discussing games of chance. Poker is one such game, and it has managed to maintain its popularity for many years. Rock paper scissors is another game that has seen a recent surge in interest, thanks in part to its simplicity and the fact that it can be played fairly quickly. So, which game is better? Is rock paper scissors the next poker?

Well, let’s take a look at the pros and cons of each game. First up is poker. Poker is a classic casino game that has been around for centuries. It’s known for being complex and challenging, and it can require a lot of skill to play well. This means that it can be tough to learn, but also that there is a lot of potential for winning big bucks. On the downside, poker can be quite risky, and it’s easy to lose your money if you don’t know what you’re doing.

Rock paper scissors is a much simpler game than poker, but this doesn’t mean that it’s any less exciting. In fact, rock paper scissors can be even more thrilling than poker because there is less room for error. All you need to do is choose between rock, paper or scissors and hope for the best! This makes the game quick and easy to learn, which is why it has become so popular in recent years. However, the lack of complexity also means that there is less potential for winning big bucks.

So, which game should you play? Well, it really depends on your preferences. If you want a complex and challenging game with high potential rewards, then poker is probably your best bet. However, if you’re looking for something quick and easy to learn with less risk involved, then rock paper scissors may be more up your alley!

RPS Proves Itself As A Serious Game

Rock, Paper, Scissors (RPS) is often seen as a children’s game, but in reality it is much more than that. RPS tournaments are now being held all around the world, and they are no joke.

The first official RPS World Championships were held in London in 2002. Players from all around the world competed for the title of World Champion. In 2006, the championships were held in Beijing, China and the winner was Wang Chunli from China. The 2010 championships were held in Toronto, Canada and the winner was Steffen “Takkel” Winther from Denmark.

In October of 2013, the RPS Pro Tour was created. This tour is made up of many tournaments that are held all around the world. Players can compete in these tournaments to earn points which will qualify them for the RPS Pro Tour Championship. The first ever RPS Pro Tour Championship was held in December of 2013 and Takkel won again.

So why is RPS becoming such a popular game? There are a few reasons. First of all, it is a very simple game to learn but can be quite complex to master. This makes it appealing to both beginners and experts alike. Secondly, it is a very fair game. There is no luck involved and the best player will always win. This makes for some exciting matches between skilled players. Lastly, it is a social game that can be played by almost anyone, anywhere.
